Most cultivated blackberries are crosses between numerous species of Rubus which produce black fruit which is an aggregate fruit. Fruiting normally occurs on 2 year old canes. New canes emerge from the crown in Spring. Thornless, with erect, self-supporting canes. Glossy, black sweet berries with small seed.
