Species Description:
Large 4-6" double flowers in late spring held above lush green lobed foliage. Needs winter chilling to break dormancy and flower well. P. 'Early Scout' was hybridized by Edward Auten with P. tenuifolia as one parent.
Cultivar Description:
Mounded habit with fine cut foliage. Crimson flowers with yellow stamens in early summer.
